Small noices?

Hello, I got a question regarding my Sun Conure. Okay I will start by saying it's about 7 months old, and it's a girl. I had it since Mid February, and she has been quiet this entire time. I let her out of the cage for a huge time, she gets the foods she wants..etc. Now thats done I want to know about her Noices. Yes I do knwo they make alot of noices including the one like Chickens, roasters or even dogs, but my Conures makes one noices I am curious to know why. It usually makes this noices when I am talking to it an dshe is near me. It hard to explain, but is low pitched, and it like a chicken voices although not entirely.

Anyways As soon as I stop talking she stops as well, but once i start, she starts as well.

LOL! My suns do this! All of them. When you talk, they move their beaks and emit little squeaky or gravelly sounds as you talk. When you stop, they stop. It's entirely normal and I think they're trying to mimic what you're doing. This is just my opinion here, and maybe there's a scientific reason, but... Most people talk very fast for a bird. They see your lips move; they move their beak in mimicry. They hear your -to them- rapid low or high talking; they make vocalisations to match. In essence? I believe they're returning conversation in 'human style'. It's adorable isn't it?

Yes, it is adorable. Although does it increase the chance of my Conure actually talking?

I don't think so, no. The only sun I have that talks is Bonn and ...well, I erred, not all of my suns do the mimic thing - Bonn doesn't. So, make of that what you will lol. Bonn talks a lot though, and will pick up new words like crazy. He's a rarity from what I've seen. He's also several years old. /shrug

Not a clue! I honestly don't try to get my birds to talk, not even our CAG. Talking just isn't important to me ...but I'm the mother of a 13 year old girl. lol I hear talking a LOT!

Bonn just pops out with new words. Some of which, he hears us say a lot. Like, he'll yell out "MEGHAN! DOOR!" Because he hears me bellow at my daughter to shut her bedroom door a lot lol. Others are out of the blue things, random words he just liked the sound of. We don't encourage it, but we do praise him and respond when he does speak.

Suns are very treat motivated, so maybe you could just sit and repeat the word forever and when your sun attempts the word, you give him a treat, but I think that would take a long time lol.
