Can lead poisoning be cure with Anti-biotic for birds? I know the effects and cause for Humans, but not birds.

It should be similar treatments in both humans and birds (I would think). My guess is the vet wasnt sure if it was lead poisoning or an infection, but favored an infection, and started the bird on antibiotics. Since the bird is doing better, it is hopefully an infection that is on the wane.

So the Antibiotics can't help the lead poisoning? The way the vet explained she said to minimize the amount of test we do she will give the bird anti-biotics, and yogurt and hopefully that she did eat lead so the Yogurt(for digestion) and the Anti-biotic will do good.

Can someone tell me is it okay for the bird to be sleeping more then usually when she is Ill. Evve is alot better she eats, and drinks alot, but aleeps alot more. She does have the energy to play and move around though, but I dont know if I should let her sleep, or jsut give offering her food, and liquids to eat and drink??
