Smile Hello !!

Hi every one,

I would like to ask some one who is in favor of Sun Conures about some Questions that are in my mind since I bought these two Sun Conures of mine

The first question what do I need to breed Sun Conure birds, because I want to have a lot of them in my house because I could not find other here in my Country “United Arab Emirates” due to the Bird Flu that is blocking the importing of these wonderful birds from Brazil and the Amazon

The second question is do I need to build their nest by my self, because while I was searching at Google I found that the size of the nest should be 18x18x18 cm in size

The third question how do I know that they are happy in the place that they are living in

Thank you for your time to pass by and gave your time to help me

Your Faithfully,

Ghanim Al-Suwaidi

how old are your conures? sure you have male and female?
Nest boxes you can build or purchase from online stores, if they ship.
if they are happy?, do they sing, talk, play, or do they just sit and do nothing.
what time of year are you in now, your spring, summer, it depends on how much sunlight.

A lot of suns in your house? Yikes! If you're not deaf now, you will be! lol

I'm afraid I can't tell you about the breeding specifics, I made a promise to myself not to mention politics, religion or bird breeding here lol. But, I will suggest the following information: If you have the option, you might seek out breeders, of any parrot type in your area, if there are any. Hands on advice and experience is a lot better than a forum, which can give you mixed results at best. If you can't find any local breeders to mentor you, you might consider a zoo. Ask to speak to the avian specialist and I would bet they'd be more than happy to talk to you about it. Get books, books, books on the subject and get knowledgeable on both the species and rearing birds before you contemplate starting a program of breeding. Lastly, get to know your birds well before you get the breeding bug. Enjoy them for a year or two, understand their quirks, habits and honestly, if you've just bought them... see if they're REALLY for you.

G'luck!
