cinnamon green cheek and water?

as some of you know i just bought my cinnamon gcc pepper home on friday and she/he is settling in well but she hates the water spray bottle or at least i think she does she runs to the opposite end of the cage when i spray her, i did use luke warm water so i'm not sure if its just a settling in thing as all the conures i've seen on youtube and here seem to love water, should i still spray her or will i leave it be?

I'd try a different approach. Some birds just don't like the sound of spray bottles. Try giving her a shallow dish with water, or letting her play with running water in a bathroom sink. Let her figure out what to do with water, and then maybe you can try the spray bottle again. I always splash my fingers in the water lightly to show the bird that I like to play in shallow water dishes too. Then the bird will want to check it out and her instincts will take over.

I have a cinnamon GCC. She does not enjoy being sprayed as it seems your bird does not either. There are a few things you can do - one is suggested for reluctant GCC - it is put greens in a dish that have water on them. They will "bathe" in those - this is how they bathe in the wild. My bird LOVES running water of any kind. She gets the urge to bathe when the sink water is running. She tries to bathe in it. She's not that great. So, I pour a pie dish full of water - cool water which she seems to prefer and she bathes in it. Like nailsrglue I too play with the water if my GCC seems reluctant to get in it. However, once she gets in she loves it. She also loves the shower - she will get under the water and close her eyes. It's all about finding out what the bird likes!

My sun first started bathing himself in his water dish. Eventually I just set the sink nozzle to shower and let him play in there until he gets bored.

well i was washing a grape this morning with pepper sat on my shoulder, she ran down my arm and perched on my finger under the running water then ran back up shook herself off then ran down to get soaked again it was hilarious she was totally drenched so i guess i'll be discarding the squirty bottle in favor of a hose (just kidding)
so now i know how she likes to bathe how often should she be doing this?

I wish I had a video camera, because I'd show you the most hilarious thing ever. We have our breeders in an outside aviary, and when the sprinklers go off elsewhere, they can hear them. Whenever the sprinklers go off, every single green cheek in the aviary rushes out and jumps into their water bowls! LOL We had to change the sprinkler timer so it wouldn't go off so early in the morning, or we'd have a bunch of soaked, shivering birds because they can't seem to help themselves and NOT bathe! hehe

mine plays in the sink under cold water. I know some people use warm & luke warm - but rain is cold & that's what mine likes the best so I guess maybe it's more natural cold?!
