A good deal, but a question needed!
Okay so I have a Sun Conure and 7 motnhs old. As of right now it has Lead Poison. I have taken it to a Vet and got myself a very good deal(IMO). For 300$ the vet will give it a Blood test, and a Lead Treatment for 5 days. It seems this is a good price, but above all when I asked the question when giving her the treatment what is the chance of her making it out alive because I though it 100% guranteed, but the vet did not answer. When I asked again she replied saying depend on how the bird takes the medication.
So can someone here give me som insight on the chance she can make it out alive. |

Lead Poisioning I believe is more dangerous than just metal poisonings. If Im not mistaken.

Yes actually. I identified it right away. I did not know it was Lead Poisoning. As soon as the vet gave me examples of what contain lead I knew what happened. I gave my bird Custom Jewelry unaware of it having Lead.

Matches has recovered THREE times from metal poisoning. It is a scary thing to go through but you have to be strong. My vet called me in on easter to give her medication just to be sure. One time she had it just in her blood and the other 2 times it showed on X-ray. I am paranoid of her head bobbing now. That was my first sign. Some people said that it was just her showing love but she was only 3 months which is way too young. I left it a day but then she vommited and that was it. The worst she got was vomitting and losing her balance and weight loss (that was the scariest) and also drinking more water than usual, I'm so glad she didnt get to the depression state.
We started off with the normal, weighing, crop samples and poo samples then went to blood work and X-rays. After that she was given an injection and I was to give her oral medication twice a day every day. I was to stop 2 days after she stops vommiting. She was given an injection a week after the first one to enforce it. The oral medication was given for about 3 weeks the first time. She is all fine now but she has scared me a bit, any sign of off balance or head bobbing for no reason and I am on the phone to the vet. Plus paranoid of anything metal that I can bend.

Matches is just trying to give you a well-rounded experience of bird owning! That's all!

Yeah we tested for bacterial infections in the crop samples and poo samples but they were clear, thats why we went to the metal. But yeah, lots of people said its just her being loving but then other people said no she's too young, get her to a vet. Didn't seem right so I took her anyway luckily.
