Question Screeching!

I have a lovely Jenday Conure of about 3 years who is affectionate and perfectly friendly, but his screeching can drive anyone to insanity. He's perfectly happy, no depression whatsoever and loves company. Can anyone tell me how I can address this issue? It seems to be a sort of warning evertime he hears a noise and can't see who's creating it.
Would appreciate any words of advice!!

With our Nanday, he usually screeches when he's just woken up in the morning and we're moving him from his sleeping quarters into the general vicinity of activity. Also, he's a screecher on his way to sleep. Either way, it seems he screeches in anticipation of something, either his morning meal or snuggling in his Happy Hut before falling asleep.

If he's on our shoulders and screeching, we gently say, "shhhh" and give him scritches, which calm him down and he ceases screeching. If he absolutely must screech and is on our shoulders, we will place him on his perch and let him screech. However, the screeching usually stops as I think we fulfilled his need, which was, perhaps, to be high up and able to observe the goings on around the area of activity in which he resides during the day.

So, I think finding the things that precipitate your conure's screeching would be a step in right direction.

Good luck and do keep us posted!

Thank you

Thanks for that. We had seemed to notice he was particularly loud during the morning and evening; and when he hears any other noises outside of the house.
Many thanks!
