The band on my Nanday Conure
I have a Nanday Conure who was given to me over five years ago. He has a silver band on his leg and I was able to read some of the numbers on it. 09??91. The band is not solid around his leg, there is a slight gap. I have seen bands both ways.
What is the difference? What is the band for and what do the numbers mean? Could it be he was born in 1991, making him about 14 years old? He doesn't appear to act old. Just wondering and courious about this band and his history. Last edited by laberta90; 03-06-2005 at 09:10 PM.

09 91 means he was born September 91.
Generally closed rings = captive bred and split rings = wild caught.
