The Cutest Conure On Earth

Her name is Hobbit and she is a Jenday conure that we have been fostering for the past 8 months. She has finally found herself a new home and will be leaving us in a few days (which makes me really sad.) No matter what, Hobbit will always go down in my book as the cutest conure in the world!

She has a very sweet face. Good for you for fostering and good for the family who could recognize her beauty.

Sometimes birds who are either fed a poor diet, never bathed, homonally stimulated, or just plain depressed will pull out their feathers in an effort to cope with life. Pulling feathers hurts and causes a chemical reaction in the body which effectively numbs out some of the emotion a bird might be feeling. Many of them start out just playing with their feathers because they are bored but start plucking when they realize that they can self medicate.

Hobbit has been plucked for over 10 years and we don't know her full story. The people who had her before she was surrendered to us were very good to her but had to give her up due to ongoing health issues. Her feathers will never grow back, but she has one of the most beautiful souls I have ever seen. Her new owners remarked that they think she is the most beautiful bird they have ever seen.

Ohh...who could possibly resist her adorable little face! I'm glad her new owners love her for what she is--plucked and all! :)
