Talking And I proudly introduce to you all, Tommie Cricket..

But I will call her Cricket but she will also have her 'Uncle Tom's' name too. hehehehe Her Aunt Mabird calls her TC.

Ok, I got the scoop on Cricket's toes. Her toes on her left foot are missing. Her bird mommy was trying to free her from a string and chewed her toes. The humans who had her took her and a sibling to the lady I got her from when they were 2 weeks old. She thought she would lose them both but one did pass. She does have the toes on her other foot. She gets around great, a little off balance but she's doing well.

I was shown how to hand feed her, she is slowing eating her seed and pellet mix. Foster mom said if at all I feel uncomfortable to bring her back until she is fully weaned but apparently she trusts me enough to do this or she wouldn't have sent the baby home with me. She did give me the items and some formula to mix up and showed me how.

Cricket has played havoc on my ear. She's resting on my shoulder and she'll slipped and when she does, she grabs my ear. OUCH!

now for the moment you all have been waiting for, I now present to you, my new baby girl, Tommie Cricket Johnson.

u can see her little feet

she loves to wear this bell as a hat

A new toy! A bell! WOOWEE

she's digging this bell

I bought a dog Frisbee that's cloth, and having a friend put holes in it for me and hem it so i can string it up as a 'hammock' bed for her.

Tommie Cricket is a little feathered doll! So pretty! It looks like she has just enough toe left on that one foot to balance on. I was wondering if she is able to hold bits of food in either of her 'hands'?

Tell her that Miss Jasper, my GCC, says 'Hi'!

Thumbs up Congratulations!!

My goodness, TC is an absolutely beautiful little girl! She looks so sweet!! I can't wait to see the pics of her 1st misting out on the porch... she'll think she was rehomed to birdie heaven.

I'm glad you finally got your hands on a baby birdie... it will be nice for you to have at least one little guy that hasn't had a bad "human experience".

Looking forward to the stories!!

I know right, and she is a cuddle bug. This morning she woke me 3 mins before my alarm as if to say, OK WOMAN, FEED ME AND GET ME OUT OF THIS CAGE NOW! Took a few minutes but we were fed....and I hated to put her back in her cage but I had to get ready for work. I am taking tomorrow off for my birthday so I can spend it with Cricket, Scarley, Ringo, Scarlet and the felines.

Aww! AWWWW! *dies* So cute!! Kiwi likes to "wear" bells like that too, that's awesome. She falls asleep in the afternoon cuddled against a hanging plastic rainbow toy with a bell on the bottom.

Yes I'm interested too, can TC eat with either foot at all? You may be looking at a lifetime of acting as "food holder," lol. Kiwi makes us do that but only sometimes.

Well right now all she has are thick wooden dowels so she's a little rocky but I am planning on ordering some flat ones for her so she can learn to stand flat footed and be steady. Heck she isn't eating on her own her! I did get her to eat some millet. Tomorrow I am planning on buying like apple sauce, some baby foods, something to peek her interest. She was babied by Ms. Kim that had her. And she was tinkled pink that I got her. She knew cricket would be in a good home with me.

If I have to be a life time 'food holder' by God I will. I don't have a problem with her handicap.

I hate I clipped her wings, cos that helped her more, but I wanted she and I to bond. When they grow back, she will stay flighted. I am going to look into getting her a harness so I can take her out and about too.
