I switched to a medium PH Hendrix snuggle hut after ours just about died in a happy hut brand.

I would not get a happy hut brand tent. Check around and see if you can find one that is hand made with all cotton thread and fleece material. It is way safer than those polyester happy huts!

We have happy huts and have never had an incident - not that it can't happen just regularly check for loose threads that can be dangerous to your birds.

I got a Med for mine. And after reading the horrors, i check this booger EVERY DAY! If she wasn't a baby w/missing toes I wouldn't have it,,,,but I do keep an eye for any loose strings.

I used to check ours in the morning and throughout the day, and before bed. I was gone for under an hour shopping and came back to Happy Hut Horror. Those little conures will see a stitched thread (that does not have to be loose) and will work at it till they get it loose. It does not take them long as I learned the hard way.

I have small for parrotlets, and med for lovebirds.. I have used for many years without any problems, you should check ALL toys, huts, food cups, and your cage for problems everyday.

I'm not sure what the difference is between the huts mentioned that makes one safer thanthe other? Is the cotton thread better? I do believe they all can fray, so how do I know which one is safer?

I also have the snuggle hut for my green cheek. It is a large which is a 10". Shadow fits in it just fine.
