Yellow Sided Conure-color change?

My Conure is 5 months old and he is molting and ive noticed he is losing his brightness but im assuming that it is just from molting. Is it lol? Will his new feathers be more colorful then they were before or less?

When they go through their first few molts, the feathers usually come in brighter/richer/deeper in color. Do you have any before and after pics?

So theres 2 pics one from when i first got him at 3 months and one from now where hes 5 months. He is molting i know tht but his feathers look all stressed and attitude wise he is getting better hes calming down and liking me more and not biting. I just hope tht his color will go back to what it was.

His colour won't go back to what it was.

It'll get brighter as he ages! The red in his belly will become more prominent and the red in his head feathers will begin to stand out a bit more. Don't worry, you don't lose colour with these little guys at all.

He's just looking a bit shaggy due to all the feathers he's molted out and some of his down poking through. Once he gets those new feathers in he will look quite handsome and his coloring will get richer.

yip, they're definitely a ball of random feathers when they molt... valo looks like sh** whenever he molts.... (nino doesn't look much better)

but once they're done, it's back to normal colors and feathers.... except if there was something that stressed them during the molt or lack of nutrients. then you might see some feather damage such as stress bars...

as long as he eats a balanced diet, you don't need to add any nutrients.... i add cuttlebone and egg shells to the bread, feed lots of fresh veggies and pellets... and the boys are fine.

stress bars are either discolorations on the feather tips, or literally lines in the tail feathers where you can see through - i've seen it with valo when i first got him (and then again, when the ex came to visit should've known better....)

lol gotta listen to the animals THEY KNOW! hehe okeys i havent seen any clear lines but he has had some black mixed in his blue feathers on his wings. i feed him tropican lifetime granules if anyone knows what they are, the breeder i got him from told me they were great but she wasnt that great of a breeder. He has a cuttle bone all the time but i dont really give him regular food like veggies or fruits too often which i will try to do!
