sun conure photos
Pictures of my Stewie:
1) the first time he tried out the rope ladder - he had to be bribed with millet 2) playing with a toy - he's just starting to show interest in toys 3) working on a rawhide-covered treat a friend of mine got for him 4) checking out the camera 5) being adorable, that's all |

Stewie is a beautiful boy. How old is he? Judging by his coloring, I'd say at least 1 or 2 years old?

Because he was found on the street before being brought to the animal shelter, they had absolutely no history on him. So all I know is that he's probably at least a year or two old. I'm guessing he's no more than a couple of years old (he seems young, but not quite like a baby... but that's just me guessing,)

more photos of Stewie-monster
I can't help myself: here are some more photos.
I know it's awfully indulgent, but he's just so darn cute (yet immensely bratty). On the weekend, for the first time, he flew to(wards) me from a perch attached to the bathroom mirror while I was finishing my shower. He usually has no interest in being close to me - he just wants to make sure I'm paying attention from afar (in fact, any attempt to get too close without the express purpose of giving him a treat is usually met with a bite). Unfortunately, since I wasn't expecting it, I couldn't catch him before he landed in the tub, which isn't draining well right now. So he landed in about half an inch to an inch of water. I fished him out after he hopped around for a while, clearly startled. I hope that didn't sour him on the idea of coming to me But I guess that counts as progress of sorts... maybe. One of the photos below is of him soaking wet and snuggling up to his furry buddy. (He didn't get that wet from landing in the tub -- I went ahead and misted him thoroughly afterwards. At no point did he get his head under water in the tub.) |

I'm hoping at some point soon to be able to report on some actual progress, rather than just posting cute pics :) It'll be such a happy day when I get to write that Stewie stepped up on command!
