What to expect from new GCC?

Hey everyone, I'm posting again. :) I've been reading a lot more in specific detail on GCCs lately since I'm going to be bringing my new baby home in a few weeks. I've read a few things about conures being very cuddly and social as babies, then, after adolesence, becoming less social and more nippy and moody. Some books I've read say this and some don't, so I want to ask real bird owners what to expect from my new GCC. I think the one I'm getting was hatched in March 09, so he will be about 5-6 months old when I get him.

Also, when do GCCs go through puberty, exactly? At what age are they sexually mature and fully developed? Most books aren't too clear on this, either. I guess I just want to know when or if I should expect a change in behavior and what kind of changes might occur. Thanks for your help everyone!

My Green Cheek was very cuddly as a young bird and from eight months to 1 year became a bit moody but after that has been cuddly ever since... Except maybe when a major moult occurs... She still wants to cuddle - but sometimes I scratch something sensitive and that does it for a while...

Right now she is leaning against my left hand as I'm typing on the laptop keyboard. One eye closed unless my left jiggles her too much because a few letters have to be typed...
