Thank you! I would say she has completely adjusted to the new name (I don't know if all suns are like this, but this one is a very fast learner, extremely bright). I sometimes slip and call her Sunny, she doesn't look at me. When I say Nara, she immediately runs towards me. She has also perfected the "down" command. I no longer need to tilt my hand or roll my finger forward to get her to step down. I just say "down" and she steps down onto the nearest surface (unless she's extremely hyper and just got on me, in which case you'll need to wedge her off of me lol.

Here's another one of her being a sweetie and shows all the new orange/red on her head and face.

Definetly a yummy girl! One hears that they are so loud, but I do not ever remember you complaining about her "screeching". It cannot be as loud as an Amazon!

Nara is looking beautiful! I love seeing pics of her! I'm glad she seems to be getting used to her new name so quickly - I'm in the process of trying to change 'Cookie' to 'Kestrel'

Thanks guys. I'll keep updating this thread to the best I can. Maybe every week is a bit too much, so I might do it biweekly. We'll see.

I've had Nara since she was a hand feeding baby, so I got gradually exposed to her voice, from the baby cry to the more adult squawk. That prevented me from getting that shock that I presume people who get their first sun as an adult go through. Also, I've always conditioned her to not squawk. When I leave or enter the room, she lets out a couple involuntary squawks, but then immediately tries to control them and turns them into a chattery "hello?"-like sound. After all, I've NEVER given her any kind of attention or acknowledgment for squawks, so she probably knows and that's why she tries to control her impulsive squawks and turns them into chatteras soon as the first two go unanswered. So in short, I'm can't say I'm bothered enough to complain about it. Most of the time I don't even mind it.

This morning

[by the way, I'm never ever talking about her noise again, because any time I say she's not all that noisy and it doesn't bother me, she spends the next two days rectifying the sun conure reputation... karma? lol]

Just when I thought her first molt was slowing down, she dropped a ton of feathers from her back and top of her head. It's like the molt is moving around, cycling between various areas. It started with her chest, then head, then shoulders, then chest, and now back to wings/back. It's like there's 4-5 days where she only loses about 3-6 feathers a day, then a couple of days where she loses about 20 a day. There's more orange feathers on her head and chest, but nothing new on the wings and back yet (the molting just went back there yesterday).
