she is gorgeous. My sun is a bit younger than yours and lately she's starting to look like crap. I can't feel many pin feathers, but I'm sure she's starting to molt. She's had a couple of yellows pop in her wings like yours. But man, her head and neck looks, scraggy!!!

most do. mine did. Tiki was hatced in march, molted over that summer. and was adult color well before his first h-day. it might depend on the time of year the hatch was, and what lighting hrs. you use. some experts will be along shortly to help us out on this one.

Pedro does not have all of his adult colors yet. At least I don't think. He still has a bit of green on his wings. It also was quite gradual with him and they way they came in was a lot different then Nara's too. His came in from the top down. I can't believe how orange Nara's head is, Pedro has a lot of yellow. Funny how different they all are.

Yeah Nara went from being very green to being colored in a relatively short period of time. Also, like you noticed, it wasn't from top to down, but rather yellow feathers are appearing randomly everywhere on her wings. I'm starting to think that those babies which start out very green tend to be very orange bodied and very bright when they do get their color. So far Nara's pattern has been EXACTLY like the bird in this video:

YouTube - Sun Conure Feather Transformation

Notice how he's very green up to about 4 months, then suddenly between 4 and 5 months, the transformation starts and snowballs, rather than it being gradual. Same thing happened with Nara. I suspect she will end up looking a lot like him in due time. It's already clear that her head/body are going to be very orange.

They do get a little raggedy when they start molting. You don't always feel pin feathers right away, but you should find a lot of feathers in the bottom of the cage if that's the case.

Nara was looking so much prettier this morning. I think two of her secondary flights were molted last night, one from each wing at the exact same location.

This week's update

Still yellowing with no signs of slowing down. Her head only has a couple greenish feathers left, but it's still molting and lots of orange pins and coming in on the top.

She is looking so beautiful! Big change in color since the last update. I wish Kiwi's color changes were so dramatic, but they aren't nearly as dramatic as Nara's. Please keep updating...I love it!

Agreed. I would say so far, this was the most dramatic change between two updates.
