Smile Rosifron Conure

I know a breeder in the area that I am about to get a Rosifron Conure from. Some call them rose fronted conures. They are very rare and beautiful. Heres a couple of pictures of the adults and the babies. You can't tell in the pictures but there chests are solid burgundy when they are adults. Here is a video of one that shows the chest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXbhUZ_aETY

Very pretty. I love it when we have someone with a rare parrot. It is nice to have a change from the GCC and Suns.

Actually, I think that is how they look as babies. My CB breeder breeds roseifrons. They get the red on their head later.

They aren't weaned just yet, so maybe three weeks. Yes the babies look a lot like painted conures. The real colors don't show up great until they are almost two years old. As soon as I get her, I will put up some pictures.

The babies do look somewhat similar to painteds, but they definitely won't grow up to look like painteds. :p They're pretty birds, but I'm just too in love with the painted conures.

Millertimeoff, I really do hope you continue to update us on your future baby. I love reading about lesser-known parrots! And the more you post about yours, the more people in the future can learn going into it, if they decide on a roseifron. That's why I try to post even mundane things about Boo (a painted conure) because painteds are also very rare parrots without a lot of info out there. This board can become a great resource for info on them if we (members) put it out there that these birds have these kinds of traits.

Anyway, congratulations on finding them! You're right, they are very rare and difficult to find.
