Yet another question

This is probably the same behaivior reasons as the question i posted last night but now my Gold Cap is grabing my right ear and shaking his body extending his right wing and making a clicky chirpy sound...is this another way he's telling em he's hungry or what is it? He also does the chirpy clicky noise when he's just sitting on me with the wings out....Sorry new to Conure ownership

LoL! Yes, this is the same behavior as the lip. I had to laugh. You do a great job of explaining it. As long as he is eating fine and gaining weight, these are all comfort actions on the babies part. The lip and earlobe are soft and warm like mamma's mouth. Do you have a scale to weigh him. They sell them rather inexpensively at Bed, Bath and Beyond. He needs to weigh in kg. He should be weighed every morning, before eating and after his first big morning poo!

The lady at petco said he weighs 130 kg and that feels about right when i hold him. I love the clicky noises he makes its so cute. I made a boo boo yesterday in the fact that when I brought him home I kept him on me all day cause if I put him on the cage he'd just try to fly to me which he can't cause his flight feathers are clipped so i just kept him with me. Which means he didnt eat pretty much all day and i dont think he ate over night so when i put his food in front of him this morning he chowed down so i feel bad

Holy moly...I want to get myself one of those. Talk about a monster conure, hehe!

In all seriousness though, I wish sometimes that I had a bigger bird that I could cuddle without having to worry about squishing if I fell asleep.

No harm done. Just try to be more consious of him. He is still a little baby and needs his nourishment. Do you have him on pellets?

To wean a bird to pellets put a bowel with all pellets in the cage, and mix a bowel with original seed and pelltes. Eventually the bird will start to pick and taste the pellets. Never remove the seed, altogether in the beginning. Some birds will really drop body weight by not eating the new pellets. It sometimes takes a while. Sometimes birds take to them right away.

Oopsey! Forgot my spelling. It's getting late and I already took my sleeping pill.
