Do green cheek conures need tents/roosts or is that just sun conures?

No bird *needs* tents.
I am yet to see one in their natural surroundings.. ; )

EDIT: The only thing ihave seen tents/huts/nestbox-like contraptions do is trigger aggressive/defensive/mating behaviour and egg laying.

I think conures enjoy having something to snuggle up to in their sleep since in the wild they all sleep together.

I think they mean something like a happy hut, or snuggle hut. There are also the perches that have the "tent" up and around them. There are also snuggle buddies.

All birds are different, some it may encourage nesting behaviour others it won't.

Wawa is completely different, he likes snuggling between two snuggle buddies on the ground in the corner of his cage. Pepper does not like his snuggle hut, he prefers a rope perch.

Pics used and further examples are here:

no, they don't need them, however, some really like them.

Cookie sleeps in hers every night, but doesn't go in it any other time.. She's not territorial at all.. i can reach right in there and scritch her!

They'll sleep wherever, though.

I don't have any tent or snuggle buddies for Kiwi. I can't even have millet in his cage because he gets too defensive. I would assume that it depends completely on the bird. Kiwi sleeps on a rope perch and hasn't shown any signs of resentment towards it.

I have been thinking of getting a birdie tent, but it isn't really for cuddling. I don't think Abbey would be into anything that would touch her..lol
