Hmmm!
That's what I'm going to do with my extra sheet. There's a bunch of pionus' that live on a tree close to my building and they get LOUD in the morning and at sunset. These guys are about half a block away, and I can still hear them through my hurricane proof window. It's not so bad in the afternoon, but in the morning when the streets are quiet, it will wake you up

Desparate times call for desparate measures. This is the fruit of several days of planning, researching, and empirically determining the best configuration. lol

It was either that or giving up, and I'm not the kind that gives up!

My experiments were going a bit slow today, so I spent some time playing around with HTML. I put together a whole page detailing my set up with thematic pictures and all (you might find some of those very funny. I told my friend to put her hands over her ears and pretend that a sun conure is screaming next to her lol). So, for your future reference, here is the page:

How to control your bird's loud screams

It was a lot of fun putting it together; it's been a while since I did any web stuff. Maybe I'll create more if I ever have another slow day, so if any of you has any ideas for new help pages, let me know.

Carbon, great site! i was thinking about sound absorption sheets as well; so, i'm glad you took the guess work out of the set-up and i can just use your tested configuration.

btw, love the monkey on the play gym ;).

but, i do have one concern: any idea what the sheets are made of? the site just says it's all "natural" materials such as cotton.

Haha that monkey has been her toy since she was a very small baby. She attacks it like crazy, then she snugs against it. It always cracks me up watching her wrestle with it.

That's a good question. I don't know the exact constituents, but I went with it because it's the only product out there that claims (boldly) to be completely natural. The first thing I did when I got the package was smell the sheets and I couldn't detect any of the characteristic scents of synthetic fibers. In fact, they smell like dry flowers/leaves. This was great, not only for Nara, but also for me because I tend to be very sensitive to the odor of synthetic material (and many of them cause me to break out when I touch them). I worked with these sheets for several hours with no reaction whatsoever, so I'll go out on a limb and say they're as safe as they claim them to be.

Glad you liked the HTML page!

thanks for the discount! Awesome. I think I'm going to turn my "bird" room into a conure room, and set it up so they can screech to their hearts content.... both my GC and my Sun set off the ringing ears alarms.

I'll got to the web page to figure out exactly what I need :)

If I move my poi's out of that room, they might find some peace too :)

Wonderful site! Be prepared to get a few free ones, my neighbor has a Scarlet Macaw that she's tried desperately to figure out a way to decrease her screaming from reaching the rest of her neighbors. She's planning on buying a few sheets now that she's read this thread and your website! ^-^

You're most welcome Diane :D

Reporting, Day 3: Last night, I was walking around my room, watching TV, talking on the phone, and Nara didn't let out a peep (she usually grumbles if she gets bothered). This morning, I got up, shaved, showered, got dressed, and left before my roommate got up and for the first time in a while was able to go to a morning seminar! Before, I had to stay in bed and wait for my roommate to get up first in order not to wake up Nara and annoy everyone! Now, Nara is back to staying asleep until I unveil the cage, and when I do, her calls no longer reach my roommates and won't wake her up.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I've been freed from my slavery.
