My dusky can scream with the best of them. Sometimes it is non-stop. Xaf got him running and hiding under his paper hissing. Except for the fact that it got the senegal screaming, this looks like a good way to get the dusky to be quiet.

I got my first serving of Nanday and Jenday screams this weekend at the bird store. Let me tell you this, given the hype people make about suns being loud, I didn't expect these two to be this much worse, but man oh man oh man oh man. They are by far louder than anything I expected, especially the Nanday. His call was more piercing than anything I've heard before from any sun. As far as amplitude goes, I would say it was less than a macaw and higher than a sun, but the frequency made it much worse than even the louder macaw. My ears HURT for an hour after we left the shop. I came home and loved on Nara for the rest of the day...

Jendayas are far worse than Suns in shrill, non-ending, rolling shrieks. Suns just give a bit of ear piercing screaming, but Jendayas make it a marathon! LOL

Xaf btw, is thrilled all your birds are responding to his evil empire summoning!

Holy cow yes xaf is loud. I would be doubling up on my sound proofing if Nara was anything near that loud.

Noise, what noise....What! WHAT! It just depends I guess how you view it. It is relevant to ones ears! I rather hear my babies communicating than hear the kid next door practicing his trumpet. My GCC is not loud, but then that is in comparison to my Alex and Amazon.

I can see an experiment coming on.... which birds can hit which notes/decibals on the high range.... I mean really hit the ear bleeding notes. Should be part of the parrot comparison check list for prospective bird owners.

LOL...that's funny! You know I don't know if I am the only one this happens to, but we have had Rocky since April and honestly sometimes I don't even notice the noise! I will be on the phone and Rocky will be calling out to the person I am talking to and they will be like what is wrong with your bird...and I'm like he is making nosie and they are like I can't believe you don't hear that! Just used to it I guess

I can tell you that Koki is the loudest creature on the face of the planet. It is rather consistent, depending on how much attention he's getting and what he's reaping from his food and toys... but for all the screaming they make up for it in companionship ;D
