Rayne's finally lost it

Rayne is a bit... well... odd.

She's been walking kind of slow back and forth the width of her cage with her head tilted, looking intently at the bottom of her cage and talking to herself. Quietly.. but constantly. She's not being aggressive. However, I DO think she's talking to/watching her shadow! It's the only thing I can think of, as there's NOTHING in the bottom of her cage.

When she was younger she did this... but hasn't for awhile and I thought she'd outgrown it. Guess not. Can't get it on video, as she stops everytime she sees the camera. I'd LOVE to have it recorded, though. She just looks insane!

That is so funny. The puppy attacks his shadow all the time.

Zoe does that too but I think she is looking more at her feet then anything else.

Have you ever thought that maybe Rayne is looking at something on the ceiling . Sometimes I can't tell what direction they are looking when they tilt their head....

Both. Birds have bizarre vision. Binocular in front, seeing two different directions simultaneously to the sides, itty bitty blind spot over their head and back.

Which direction has their interest, however, is another matter. :D

I'm pretty sure she's watching the floor. Her head is pretty close to the floor as she's walking back and forth. When she was a baby and did this, I turned off the avian light over her cage to make the shadow disappear. She looked up at me and back down.. then walked away and stopped doing that. When I turned the light back on, it wasn't long before she was back doing it again.

I'd LOVE to get it on camera.. but she's just too curious about what I have. Also, it doesn't have a light for video (why I want a new one) so unless the room is REALLY bright you can't see anything. (second reason why I want a new one) She's a nut case... LOL.
