Lately, Nara has taken to biting me as a sign of affection. If I put her in my palm and scratch her head with my other hand, she puffs up, grabs to my finger, and starts making the baby sounds while grinding on my finger . I need to figure out how to discourage that . I'm not even sure how it got started to begin with....

Hmmm, marking territory. It would make sense Pedro thinks I am all his haha. Selfish little bird that he is. Oh and totaly changing the subject...but i don't feel like starting a new thread...I caught Pedro taking a bath in his water dish today!!! I have never seen him do it before, but he was only wet for a half hour afterwards, so it's possible he does it while I am not around.

Yup - water dish baths are not uncommon... :-) Very interesting scent to the bird if they're pellet dunkers and they take a bath before you have a chance to change the water...

Pedro is in a funky mood today, other then the bathing in the water dish, he also doesn't want to come out of his cage today. He was hanging on his door this morning like usual, but when i opened the door he bit me haha. He hasn't had one of these days in awhile. He is just in there playing with his toys. I guess I should enjoy it while it lasts!

Lucy does that, but I thought she was just cleaning off any food/water left on her beak.
