Excuse me, I'm a Sun and I know what I'm doing

Nara figured out that by eating over a food cup she can retrieve much of her food instead of it falling to the bottom of the cage and into oblivion. So now, you give her an almond and she rushes with it to the food cup, stands over it, shreds it to little pieces, then picks them up one by one from the cup and eats them. This allows her to salvage at least 3/4 of the amount that used to go to waste when she used to eat standing on her perch. It seems like a simple form of tool use to me!

As far as I've seen, Suns don't seem to be any less intelligent than the other conures I've met. Or do people just assume they're dumb cause they're so pretty (kinda like with blondes)?

I have never heard that suns aren't as smart..... where the heck did you hear that one?

Now the owners of suns that's different.

Seriously just kidding, if anything it's the owners of cranky, biting, screeching cherry heads named Pepper! LOL

Someone here said that. I can't remember who or where. It might've been one of the evil breeders.

Damn right!

Btw.... last night Bella dropped her Apple piece down between the grate of her cage.... she spent the next 5 minutes trying to grab through the bottom, then flying around trying to figure out how to get it back.

Oh just wait and see, she'll devise all sorts of little tricks to not lose her food.

Suns are ditzy happy. You cannot claim intelligence in a Sun for having found a way to manage to stuff MORE food into their rotund, yellow butter bellies! LOL

LOL. While I do agree that the end justifies the means, I don't agree that happier necessarily means less intelligent (as seems to be the case with most humans, nonetheless).

Suns are actually very smart birds, they just get distracted a lot. Just like Caiques but not to the extent a Caique is! LOL
