I am now a proud sun conure owner ^^!

Hey guys :} I finally got a bird; HE ( DNA'D MALE!)

I picked him up from a breeder; he was scared and still could fly so I took him to a pet shop and they trimmed his nails and cut his wings; I had him in a big box lined with paper towels and with some pellets; The drive was a bit long and I picked him up a couple of times and scritched; he is so scared though

He is now on his cage; that has food and water; but he will just stay in a corner; he is a bit sleepy so I covered his cage and i'm going to let him get used to me; Im done trying to pick him up and stuff; gotta let him get used to my house :[ and not bother him, so I dont start on a bad note... eh

He is climbed on the cage and wont get down.. is he scared? :{

Tips on bonding would be appreciatted ^.^

I have yet to pick a name for him. So suggestions please.

Pics soon {:

Congratulations!

There are sooo many names to choose from!

When did you bring him/her home?

Fair warning, you know you will have some criticism about getting a sun when the cage was found to be inappropriate.

They can sleep like that! LOL Some change sleeping habits as they mature, others don't.

Best male name still available in the official conure name registry.

Congrats! Rico hung on the side of his cage for a few days. They have to adjust. Start by just talking to him softly and giving treats in his bowl when you do that. Work your way up to trying to touch/pet him. Make sure that there aren't any loud noises or anything at first so he doesn't startle when you're interacting with him. You should have a sun that wants to interact with you and is OK with handling soon enough!

I don't have any name suggestions... what kind of names do you like? You can tell with the pattern with the boys that I wanted more hispanic type names for them. However, with Ziva I went from ethnic to the 'meaning' of the name... which I felt was important given how I feel about greys...

Xaf says that although Suns are inferior to Jendayas, he will nonetheless suggest the name 'Xaf'.
