I made this toy but I'm not to sure about the straws and how safe they are
for my birds so it hangs outside the cage until I can learn more about how
safe the straws are.

Lotsa people make toys from plastic straws. we had a demo at a club meeting not long ago.

i made shadow a few toys with plastic straws.. he LOVES them.. he likes to chew on the straws but i have never ever seen him try to eat any pieces of it so id say your good

I take the straws and run them thru one of those little hand pencil sharpeners. It makes them curly. The tiels especially love them.
