PlayGYM Frame+Body

Hi everyone,

I'm sort of interested in making a playgym for my grey

only issue is what material should i mainly use as my bird is a bit handicap as he is missing 5 out of 8 nails and have poor grip on things.

I also want something that is easy to clean as well as Ajax is quite a messy boy

what would u guys recommend on using?
what about pvc pipe? since it's smooth how wold one make it easier to grip for a bird who has no nails on one foot and 3 on another foot

HIGHLY recommend this: The Hoopball...A DIY Project

One of my macaw's is handicapped as well, he only has one leg. He has NO problems gripping this gym and climbing all around and playing with the rope surface. It has been by far the best thing I have ever built for them, and the only thing including purchased gyms, that he can really make use of.

you can cover that pvc with vet wrap, its easy to rewrap when its old. does your bird have at least a front nail, and a back nail, on one of his feet. even most one legged birds, such as maui above, get around ok if they have at least one front claw, and one back claw.
