loo roll tubes are good for them to shred, also make paper fans and slot them in the cage bars, hemp ropes or something scented or flavoured, strips of leather are also good, can be brought off ebay,
willow branches or fruit tree branches are also good and they enjoy them .... metal chains also shiney and attrect their attention, i also use wooden cat litter pallets on my cage floors, they love picking the pallets up and chewing them and throwing them about, kids toys like link a doo's can be brought from most kids shops, learning centers or off ebay, baby rattles , the softer plastic not the hard brittle ones as these can be dangerous , also childrens wooden building blocks are good, colorful and fun to play with , a key chain with a bunch of keys attached will also give something to keep them occupied with :D u probibly tried most of these , however just a thought as their may be something you missed that may help :) good luck katie |

My tiels aren't too big on toys either. They are more likely to play with things if I play with them and the toys outside of the cage for a few days before putting them in the cage. Kinda like kids...always getting into things they shouldn't. I made a lot of simple foraging toys for my tiels to get them to start playing. I take a small piece of paper and put a treat in it. At first I left some of the paper open so they would realize there was food inside, then I closed it up all the way. They love destroying things for their treats. I also take the paper and hide or tie it to some of their toys. They play with the toys a lot more now. Also, rip paper into strips and then try giving it to him. Puzzle pieces are a HUGE hit with my birds also. And cardboard of any kind. Rope is a good one too. Sophie loves to try and untie knots and doesn't seem to care that she never does get it. You can buy cheap little straw hats at any craft store, Zeke will spend hours tearing into his. To be honest, my birds play with the cheap/free stuff more than they do the toys I buy.
