Here is a site that tells how to make a boing. It doesn't look too hard but I haven't made one yet. On African Wings

Instead of rope perches I took an old pair of khakis that were 100% cotton and cut part of the leg off, then I folded it inside out and sewed it as wide as I wanted it so it made a tube. I took an old, clean t-shirt, cut it in half and rolled it up and used that to stuff the tube. I didn't even sew the ends, I cut a slit in them and used that to tie it to the cage. The best thing is that the whole thing can be washed without getting ruined and the fabric doesn't snag toes. My birds LOVE them and as soon as I put it in their cage the didn't even use their rope perch anymore at all and it took less than 10 minutes to make.

I'm planning on making some hanging perches using my leftover 1.25" manila rope. Got the design in my head and the needed supplies. Just need the time to make them now.

With everything else the birds have, I've not reallly put any thought into making a boing. I'm sure I will eventually.

I made mine on a whim after I got Sophie. She came with a rope perch that was icky and after I washed it it was very raggedy but it was her favorite perch. I gave it back to her but I wanted something that was long enough to go from her cage to Zeke's cage so they could visit each other and I figured, why not? They both loved it so much they used to sit on the perch instead of their cages so I put one in both their cages. They used it more than any other perch. The best thing about it is that I could make it as big or as small as I wanted to and use the old clothes I didn't need anymore. Plus, you don't even have to be great a sewing (thankfully)! My keets have one, all my tiels have one and I made one for my aunt's tiel and my cousin's tiel. They both said that it's their birds favorite perch as well.
