Spring loaded quick links

Does anyone know where I can find the spring loaded quick links? Maxie can unscrew the regular ones... then she bends them.
TIA!

Glenda- If you are talking about the "thumb operated" ones that you often find on keychains, belt-clip wallets, or to hook a dog's leash, we have had luck finding heavy duty ss ones in the past at WalMart. Check in hardware, key-making, and sporting departments. It's the only thing we found sturdy enough (barring an actual lock) to keep our U2 in her cage. Good luck!

Are you talking about the clips that look like normal quick links only they stay shut with a spring?

I can only find them online already attached to toys--maybe you could buy some links from them or find out where they get them.

If you can't find that, there is a type of snap called a bull snap that is frequently used for horse lead ropes. The inner section folds out and is much harder to open than a dog leash snap. They are very cheap (under $2 each) thru horse tack shops or cataloges.

Those are the ones I had in mind. We know they are made, gotta be someplace to buy them.

I bought some chain from a Bird Show. I wanted them to fasten the ends of the chain. I am going to make some "permanent" perches out of it. (Going to thread some cotton rope through the chain so it will be comfy.) Whiteboy eats through rope perches in a day, so I was hoping this might slow him down a bit.

Those look like they would work, but they are sure expensive.

Guess I am going with regular quick links and use pliers to tighten them down. Maybe a little lock-tite on the threads. lol

Didn't even look at Price

I didn't even pay attention to price. Were they terrible? You know, when I used to play darts, you could buy these little o rings to go in between the shaft and the tip to keep it tight. You might be able to get something like that. I just worry about using lock tight if they might get some in their mouths...but I guess if it is inside the metal you should be safe. Good Luck.

Brilliant Idea

Well here you go, you could save all of your spring loaded quick links and send them off to those who are looking for them...lol
