My new playstand WDYT?

After robbing lots of ideas from all of you I produced my first playstand last weekend. Could you tell me whether there is anything unsafe about it that I am missing? I have it next to the cage so my bird can get used to looking at it but he hasn't tried it out yet.

The wrapping is sisal twine dyed with food coloring. The eye hooks are stainless steel.

If I had it to do again, I wouldn't do the twine, because it isn't that easy to clean, and measuring/wrapping all those perches was a lot of work to have to re-do when it gets icky.

Any suggestions?
TIA!

PS my fid is a sun conure

I think it looks great. Only suggestion I have is instead of twine maybe use vet-wrap. Any place that sells horse supplies should have some or you can order it online. Some vet clinics will sell some to you also.

I tried something much smaller than that (with just two steps .. a basic bar then one end went up twice). Gandalf, my Grey, never did like the steps and avoided it completely -- going to the other end of the bar. Would be interested in knowing if your bird climbes it!

This looks great! How do you dye your sisal twine? I just bought some but have never tried dyeing anything with food coloring myself before and would love to try it both with the vine and with wood!

I am not a vet, no member of a message board can substitute for a visit to a good avian vet in the case of potential health problems

I am new here. I have an U2, an african grey and gcc. I want to make a stand like that. How did you get the pieces to stay together. Did you use glue? I would think that would be unsafe. Thanks

It is beautiful. You are very talented. I would give the vetwrap a go too. That sisal sounds like a lot of work. The vetwrap would have taken just minutes. I have it on my guys shower perches and a tee stand. I have no skills and still had no problem.

You did a great job! I would like to place an order for one of these! Any interest out of your Sun yet? How much did it cost to build it?
