Pinecone Toy

I've cleaned-up some pinecones and am going to use them for foraging toys. Can anyone recommend a good method for hanging them? Don't want to use anything Petie could get stuck in or could wrap around himself.

Could you shove the tip of the cone between the bars?

You can screw in stainless steel cup hooks (get at Walmart), hook it to a bar then crimp it closed with some pliers.

I use that when I make pinecones for my macaws then hang several of them on a chain. They don't fuss with the hook until they've demolished the pinecone.

FWIW, careful how you crimp or you'll have one helluva time getting it off the bars.
