World's ugliest parrot tree!

I made a tree for my U2 just for chewing, he's already chainsawed his way through two huge dowel type perches and all of his wooden toys and I had to put off ordering his bottlebrush swing and cage set until this Friday so I went out and picked all the big birch and pine I could find in the backyard, cleaned it, baked it, cleaned it again and dried it and made a monstrosity of chewing goodness. He loves it, I give it three days before it is a stump, I wish the lighting was better so I could have taken some pictures of the woodchipper evidence on the floor after just 5 minutes. It's about 3x3x4 feet tall not counting the rolling stand. I may have to get rid of the sofa soon.

Here it is in all it's fugly glory:

Correction... Artcle headline should read... "Happiest Parrots get new tree"!! All the best toys are made by hand and yours is obviously no different! Your fids are lucky to have you!

Thanks to you both. I have actually made really symmetrical and pretty trees for my grey but I needed a fast fix for the chainsaw's chewing habit so that's what we got. It's easier to collect dead branches in summer so I had to work with what I had. They do like it though for sure.

I agree. The wood is safe and all are happy. That is the point of a playstand so a job well done!

I made a new tree, Picasso or not the fugly one just made me want to hide, this one is 62 inches tall from the ground with a base of 18x24" and the tree itself is 47 inches tall by 42x24 all seasoned and cleaned pine. It's all symmetrical and well arranged (not to mention fatter branches for more destructo chewing and comfy standing). More toys arriving Tuesday (though I have to add them carefully because as we all know some new toys are the debble) I went on a 200$ spree at bird.com woo!

I agree! Who cares what it looks like! He's obviously having a blast. amazing how we think something is ugly and they think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread..LOL Maybe we should be more like our animals and not care who or what .. and just learn to be happy with the simple things in life...

And question? Why is it you can spend $40+ on a toy..Give them a stick or a plastic bottle and they'll play with it for hoouuurrrs.!
