Remade my PVC stand again

I have switched this thing around about 6 diff ways and I think I really like this newest layout... love my new serving tray! Its the biggest plastic one i've ever seen, i got it at hobby lobby for $6.

Probably change it again next week... something to be said for cutting a bunch of PVC at once in uniform lenghts...

What size PVC did you use? Is it wobbly at all?

red192 its really very very easy.... :) I have NO idea why these sell for so much in stores.

rnocera i used 1/2in. SLIP (not threaded) pipe for everything & sanded it all down before cutting. :) I even ran the dremel down the pipe to give it some groves for better grippability... not necessary, but since I had the dremel I figured why not.

I cut all my pipe in approximately 2, 3, 5, and 6 inch sections... about 4 of each length.... so when I rearrange it, I can just switch around however & have enough pieces the same length to make it stable.
Finger tight until I get it how I really want it... then tap tight w/ a hammer.
I can take it apart by tapping it again w/ the hammer if I REALLY want too.

& yes, it is very stable. This takes very little actual skill, otherwise I couldnt make it!

Either plan ahead about what you want to make or buy lots of connectors. I am NOT a planner.... I just DO things. LOL.
I have about 5 T's, 3 X's, and 10 elbows, 4-45*, and a bag of end caps.... the possibilities are endless.

The stainless steel eye hooks I have on there were expensive though.. but I couldnt find smaller ones. I think I paid 8$ for 4 of them. Ouch.

Here is a pic of it today.... already changed... i made one part taller, flipped something around & added a wire ladder.

and a couple toys I made tonight.. I'm really proud of the cat ball/chain one. LOL... I used tiny plastic chain, cut it, and covered the cuts with some tiny straw beads cut into tiny pieces! (and the cat balls have PLASTIC bells in them)

If you look toooo close at the pics of toys you might see some legos and ninja turtle toys... not part of the toys... just left in the chair by the short people of the house. :)

I don't think she cares. :)

For the most part its never been the same more than 2 days in a row. These are my first attempts at PVC gyms and I keep changing to to see what suits her best. I make, watcher he climb on it, see what needs to be different, adapt it, and try again. I might add that she is flighted, so if she STAYS on it then she must think its fun. LOL.

I think we both like the way I have it now & am probably leaving it alone for a while.

Now I'm back to rebuilding my hanging gym. :)

I only have one tiel and I sanded all the pipe down before cutting. :)

YES, my tiel does fine w/ the 1/2in pvc.

In old threads I've read other ways to give it more grip are to put "vet wrap" on it.... (what they wrap horses/birds/other animals broken bones in; 2-3$ at farm/ranch supply store) OR the self adhesive grip tape for boats & deck work.

or just wrap in sisal.
