Playstand

I made this playstand from a large plastic storage container, a piece of a limb from a tree in the yard, and a ladder and some toys, etc.

The limb is mounted on a small board that lays across the bottom of the container and is screwed onto the plastic for stability. Toys can be hung from eyehooks or tied on. The ladder leads down to the bottom of the container and a food and water dish sit there.

The birds (a cinnamon green cheek and sun conure) sit on the limb or the edges of the container.

Makes a nice little 'home base' for them for their time spent out of their cages.

What a great idea. How did you get the tree limb to stand up?

There is a small board on the inside of the container. From the bottom side, there are screws, with washers, screwed up into the board - and one of the screws goes all the way up into the limb.

The board gives it a base for stability. (I actually just added the second screw to the other end of the board the other day to stabilize it a bit more....just the one screw held it up okay, but it had a little bit of give to it....)

There was also glue between the board and the end of the limb.

The board inside....

The screws from the underside....
