Safety?

Can i ask a quick question? I was wondering about safety of birds when making toys? Are there certain sizes of parts (like beads and stuff) you should be careful of, certain things you shouldn't use? I was thinking of stuff like beads getting stuck in the throat and stuff. What about using fruits and stuff and drying them and stringing them? Just curious about stuff I guess because I know parrots need lots of toys to keep them occupied and I was worried about having to spend a lot on toys when I get my parrot.
