LOTS of DIY toys!!!

I made a small order with California Bird Nerds--Simple Joys and Safer Bird Toys just to see what the parts were like and what I could make with them. Some of the parts were a lot smaller than I thought but it all worked out. Stupid me forgot to get Paulie Rope so my next order will consist of an entire spool with the rate I'm making toys.

First, a couple of really simple, basic toys. I have no idea what my Meyers/Red Bellied is going to like so I'm trying a little of everything. That way, once he gets home, whatever he may be and whenever that may be lol, I can test drive the toys I've made and buy parts that fit his liking.

A simple Loofa on a rope. I know Rosco used to love to tear at these, so I bought one, cut a couple of pieces off and left the rest as a simply toy.

A simple shreddable.

A couple of swings.

Some Foot Toys... I need foot toy ideas, please.

A few simple yet fun chewable/shreddables.

A few more interesting and complicated ones.

And a few of my older ones just for fun. I made these a while back.

Here's my cage and stand together. I'll hopefully be getting another cage soon. This was my GCC's stand. Though the bird won't hardly ever be in the cage anyway.

The toys look like a lot of fun. Any idea when the new baby is coming?

Probably mid summer. My breeder hopes to have eggs soon and then I'd wait until the baby is ready. I'm really set on a male, though, so if she only has females, I'll probably wait even longer.

very nice toys!!! be careful with the ABC blocks, if they're from china, there could be lead in the paint.

I had a parakeet die from being egg bound once. It was by far one of the most terrible experiences. I just don't think I ever want to risk that again.

I bought them from a bird toy part site a long while back (don't even remember which one) so I assumed they are safe. I'll have to see if I still have the packaging left to double check. Thanks.

Well, I've since made a ton more toys (though some are not for me but another bird person) and a new stand.

This is missing a boing in the middle. Still trying to figure out how to make one. I'm bad at that part, lol.
