Make your own flightsuit

After working on several patterns, I think I have finally got it down!
Mine is on the left, the one on the right is from avain fashions (petite size):


My tail openings aren't quite as neat because it is pretty hard to sew with the lycra/spandex material. I had to do it all by hand because my machine wouldn't sew it well...they take a long time, but are well worth it! At least, they will be worth it once I can convince the fids that they aren't scarey.

Here are the 3 that I have made (left to right: petite, x-small, medium):


The one on the far right doesn't have sewing around the edges...I thought I'd try it without since the extra stitching takes so much longer. The material doesn't fray anyway.

I'm not planning on using these for restraint purposes...I just wanna take my birdies to the carpeted basement without my parents worrying about them staining the floor.

Thanks! I haven't had a chance to actually put them on a bird yet...still working on the whole training part. Rylee, my sun is now brave enough to stand on it and let it rub on his neck. We are making progress!

could you send me the medium pattern, i cant see the pictures on this thread for some reason, please send to belinda.j.pearce@gmail.com I would be so grateful, i want to make my own suit cos i cant find what i am looking for in the patterns i want online, so i thought i would make my own. thanks so much B
