Stainless Steel play stand

I am planning on making a playstand for my baby TAG, originally I was going to go with wood but now I've decided to go with Stainless Steel. At my job we work with stainless steel so one of the guys offered to help me out with it . This should be okay right? I am going to be wrapping the perches with rope or vet wrap.

That should be okay I'd think. Besides the slippery part, but the vetwrap should help with that. Stainless steel would definately make it easier to clean and disenfect!
