Fids new playstand

Hi everyone! I am new here, I joined because I was looking for ideas on how to build a play stand for my Quaker and Cockateil and thanks to all your great advise I thought I would share my final results. I have learned so much already and am looking forward to being a part of birdboard :)

We had been searching for a play stand to buy for the fids and couldn't believe the prices of some of them so we decided to attempt one ourselves before we put that kind of money into one. It took my hubby and I about 3.5 hours to make. Hubby made the base for me and screwed down the grape wood, and I made all the toys, bridges and ladders. Everything on it we had around the house and if not we picked it up at the dollar store, except for the crock dishes and the tire swing. What's a tree house without a tire swing lol?

I can't wait to see them on it!!! We haven't let them test it out yet because I have to sand down the base first because the trim on it was already stained (it was extra we had from building our house). Needless to say the whole thing was much cheaper than the ones on-line........ 1.99 per crock, 5.99 for the tire swing, and 7.00 worth of dollar store stuff. It was only suppose to be a tabletop play stand but ended up being huge lol!

Man... this is the coolest thing ever. I originally planned on doing something this imaginative but ended up doing a lame, simple PVC gym. Maybe someday I'll feel inspired...

Very, very cool. I love the bridge and swing. :D

I love it! What a great job. I want to make one for my sun conure, Tequila Sunrise. He'll be lucky if it turns out half as good. I'm brand new to birds. Don't even know what "fid" means. Great pictures also. Thanks for sharing!
