New Play Area

A while ago I scored a clearance price ($35) on a wardrobe thing on wheels. My plan was to make a mobile play area!! Almost finished rearranging my room and upgrading my lizard cages (hence the power cords!).

Sorry about the flash, I didn't think to close the curtain first!! Also, the power cords are there for a couple more days and I won't let the birds out for a proper play until I get that all sorted out.

I ordered a bunch of toys from work which I thought would work well.

Here is what I have so far...

There are three shelves on the left and one long area on the right. There is a top shelf which I will be putting a normal playgym onto.
I have towels which I have sewed ties onto so that it fills in the bottom to catch poop and also make for a soft landing if someone lets go (not pointing fingers at the unco cockatiel...)

On the right is a long toy (called Medusa from Companion Parrots for Aussie people...)
Points for anyone who can find the lovebird (in the blurry photo I know...)

Did you see her?

Here you can see how I positioned a boing as a birdie stairwell between the levels. So far it works well! Here is Squizzie demonstrating

Grover (IRN) having a turn. Not so hard to see him...

Upside down!

Whatcha keep doing that flashy thing for?

I don't think she is going to stop, so I might as well pose pretty then...

And finally, Dobby who found the food super fast!!

I have many many more toys in a box to add and I plan to zip tie some thick sisal around each platform to stop the balls rolling off!! It is well past their bedtime now and I had to stop.

Any suggestions for good toys to add?

Thanks, Matt.
I think what I like best is the wheels and that all the bars meet at right angles so I can't see any places for toes to get stuck!

It would be really easy to hook one of those wooden ladders for birds from one shelf to another and hang some toys or foraging things near it. Great job! I love seeing what people repurpose into a bird stand...so cute.

Very interesting, you gave me some good ideas for some more play stands for my babies.
