how to stop hanging gym from swinging back/forth/side2side?

Does anyone have any advice on how i can mount this differently? It swings in all directions.

Right now it is mounted w/ a single chain, connected to eyebolts w/ s-hooks.

Id love to make it more stable

Maybe get some PVC pipe to threat the chain through, using stainless steel hardware of course. It will also keep your birdies from climbing the chain and eating the ceiling. It might help some. Cool idea though. I rather like it.

The easiest way would be to use two chains on each end in opposite directions. The pvc over the chains is a good idea.

isnt the pvc just to prevent them climbing up? im not concerned with that as much as they are not destructive birds lol..well..not yet haha

will pvc stabilize it?

the opposite direction idea sounds good, i just cant picture it in my head though.

I also would say to use the PVC piping for the chains from ceiling to stand. You would have to make them long enough that they would make the stand tight and unable to move.

hang lots of toys off of it ;) that'll create enough mass on the bottom half that it swings a lot less....

Separate your ceiling hooks a couple of more inches. Take the length of your perch then add a couple of inches and use that figure for the distance on the ceiling hooks.

ok, i went the PVC route.
Its made a major difference but id still like it to be more ridged.

I wonder what else i can do? maybe thicker PVC? im using 1.5 inch size.

How do people usually attach the end caps? i didnt use any glue, instead pushed them on and i have the original chain running down the middle as a saftey incase the caps slide off.
