Lightbulb Closet play area

When I go upstairs to listen to music in my room I sometimes like to take my tiel and linnie with me. My tiel always likes to walk around on my tv and my linnie sits on my cd stand.
The other day while I was cleaning another tiel poop off my tv I thought to myself I need something to protect my tv from tiel poop I also noticed that it did not look like my linnie was having as much fun as my tiel was and that my tiel could be having more fun aswell.
I always liked those climbing nets that they sell in bird stores ........ but I know my Mom would not appreciate one hanging in the dining room So I was thinking I could hang it in my closet and make a large self underneath it to give more room for walking around and as a bonus protect my tv :D
Here is a photo of my closet

Don't mind the tv it is not dirty, when I resized it for the form it made the speaker holes look weird.
So my closet is 36 inches wide and 25 inches deep. I guess the shelf would have to be a bit less wide so it would be able to fit in the closet. Also making the shelf 25 inches deep will allow my tv to stick out a bit.
I want to make the play area as bird safe as possible and was thinking of getting a piece of plexi glass cut to size. Do you think it would be safe to use or would it be to slippery for the birds. Iam not sure if they would be comfortable being able to see through it. Mabey I should use some untreated aged pine instead and put a plastic table cloth over it. I would also need some shelf supports to hold the shelf in place. Iam hoping to get these and the screws in stainless steel. The net will hang off the pole, should I put vet wrap on the pole seeing as I don't know what kind of metal it is or shoud I just put a dowel rod in it's place? What do you guys think? Iam not very crafty So any help would be appreciated, thanks

I removed the link so no more viruses.

Boings and swings work too.

I got some supplies but I think I need a bit more before getting started. I went with untreated pine wood and a one inch dowel the dowel is hard wood but Iam not sure what kind, I hope it will be safe. I got the stainless steel screws they are $1.09 each pricey but my birdies are worth it

Well Iam glad it is gone now. That is really strange because I always click my own links to make sure they take me to the page I want to show everyone. Anyway about the closet play gym, Iam going to take a photo of the dowel I got and see if anyone can tell me what kind of hard wood it is, it is untreated but the store could not tell me what kind of wood it was.
