problems with my new ekkie!!!!!!

Hello everyone I have a new ekkie baby boy he is gonna be 4 mos old in the beginning of sept. He came to his new home last saturday and he is not the loving ekkie I thought he would be I know this is all new to him but I feel like I'm trying to get a child to like me. It feels like i am fighting a losing battle I talk to him through his cage as well as read him stories greet him when I enter the room and say bye as I'm leaving, all he ever does is snap at me all the time if I take him out the cage he flies away from me to the floor he has no time to talk or show any type of affection. I feed him well just waiting for the day he will just wanna sit with me and watch tv but I think that day is far fetched he can't even sit with me for five minutes, and not to mention the snapping at my hand it does not hurt it is just the violent action behind him doint it its just no love I understand its all new to him my home, his home, new family etc but is he ever gonna like us are accept us its just a lot of money and just not the response I expected.

My other question is what does it mean when ur bird perches and holds one foot up kinda tucked in toward him self???

well im no expert as my cosmo will be 4 months old in sept....and my problem was his never ending squawking when he saw me now he better to a point but thats because im ignoring him...my friend had a problem with her ekkie she too read to him ...hers use to growl at her if she past while he was eating eventually when the bird adjusted to to the surroundings it got better for her......i guess i answer my own problem.....where in new jersey are you? im in ocean county.....if you dont mind where did u get your ekkie from? talk to you soon good luck with your ekkie you will have fun once he settles in...just keep doing what u are doing he willl come around.... perching and on one foot my ekkie does it when he is relxing/sleeping....
