nesting behavior

It dawned on me that this might be a good place to talk about this as well. Sophie, bless her little heart, has started nesting/mating behavior these last couple of weeks.
I first took note of it with her reaching thru the grate on the bottom of her cage to get the newspaper and shred it. No more paper on the bottom of the cage for awhile.
After a lot of talking to others I have figured out she has been spotting out "nest" sights and in Sophies case, chasing away the "other" bird, you know, the one in the mirror.
Tonight I started putting her to bed early, 7 PM, fortunatly during the week I can roll the cages into my step sons bed room at night. I put Zoey in with Sophie just to make sure nobody is thinking its a "bad" bird kinda thing.
On Saturday I am going to rearrange her cage and put in a new and differant hanging toy. She has an abundance of wood blocks for shredding. I am also going to make food prizes, wrap sprouts or something in wax paper or coffee filters and spread over the bottom of her cage.
About a week before she started shredding newspaper Sophie started this cute little head bobbing dance. well it seems that head bobbing dance may be a mating dance. Guess who has been encouraging it by doing the head bob dance with her? I hope she oesn't get the wrong idea!! I'm already married!! Well anyway I figure this is a great place for us Ekkie owners to share our experiance on this...............please.
