Please help - need advice

Hello - I am in the middle of trying to decide whether or not we are the right type of household for an Eclectus and would love any advice. I love them and would love to have one, however, I have read a lot of info saying that they need a quiet enviornment and do not like yelling. I have two children, ages 3 & 6, so there is ALWAYS some form of yelling. It usually starts with them yelling at each other, then me yelling at them. ; ) I would assume it will be like this for at least another few years. A breeder who sells both Eclectus and Caiques said that she prefers the Caiques with her family (she also has 4 children) and said they just have very different personalities. I think the Caiques are beautiful, but really had my heart set on an Ekkie. Is it a bad decision to get one now, or is it better to wait until the children are older?

Would wait till the kids are older myself. Caique is a much better bird for your home.

I would also say wait until the kids are a bit older. Ekkies are known to be very sensitive to their environment and can become quite unhappy even depressed if they find their living situation stressful.
