What do ya know, he does talk!

Hi fellow Eclectus owners,

Just yesterday, after months of "mumbling" and making asorted sounds, our Floyd spoke his first words - as clear as day. I was amazed that it happened overnight.

What a buzz

I guess he would be somewhere about 8 months old.

DF.

He said "Step up Gorgie", and "Scratch" , both of which we say to our other fid "Georgie" the Corella.

I know how exciting that is! My Sennie talks, and even now, when she says something new, I get all excited and tell everyone.

We were excited when our two began to talk, but now, some days we wish they had never started. Be warned.

My Henry definately talks. Sometimes to the point that we'd like to ask him to please be quiet!! He will say "What are you doin'?" over and over and over, although he does have many more things in his vocabulary. One of the funniest things I ever heard/saw was when the cat was lying in the floor near his cage and he kept saying "John Robert, meow meow meow. John Robert! Meow meow meow" He couldn't understand why John Robert wouldn't respond when Henry was "speaking" the cat's language!

It's always fun when they come out with something new. He's about 8 years old and continues to pick up new words or phrases.

Sounds like you're off and running with yours. Have fun!!
