Ohhhhhhh He is so cute!!!! Nice pictures!! The only way I can tell I am not looking at Tonka is that Tonka has a little more yellow at the end of his beak. He doesn't give me a hard time feeding him. He actually "pumps" alot of times like other birds do. I guess he doesn't know that he is an eclectus :) He really is very easy to feed. But he has cut down on how much he eats. He eats about 30 to 35 in am and about 35 to 40 at night. But he takes it pretty eagerly. I would think as long as Pogo is eating regular food that he will eat when he is hungry so try not to worry. He does look great to me. Does he cry out alot during the day, like he is hungry? If not I would think he must be pretty content. But as you know I am no expert for sure!! :) Just learning as I go. Has Pogo started making an new sounds. Usually Tonka just squawks accept when he is sleeping (he makes alot of little sounds when he sleeps) but today we went on a rather long car ride with a friend and all the way up and back he made all these new little noises and whistle type sounds. I couldn't believe it. It was so much fun to listen to but when I took him in my car he wouldn't do anything but his typical squawking! Not sure what the difference was. I guess he doesn't like my company or he doesn't like my car!!!

he cries certain times during the day yes, but won't eat if I try to feed him, who knows lol, I was told I got the typical eclectus lol. yipppeeee for me heehee. He makes those sounds as he is sleeping too, a few things when awake, but not alot yet, just that squawk. Wierd thing is pogo is, when I feed him formula he does not pump, but yet if I go to put food in his mouth when I know he is hungry, he will pump at it. lol its wierd. I talked to a guy at the one bird store here and he said my ekkie was wierd cause he doesn't pump, every one that he feeds does. Though anywhere you read it says that they don't lol, who knows. Post some new pics of tonka :)

I am ashamed to say that I still can't figure out how to post a picture on here. I downloaded some into the album at the top of this page like before but when I try to put it in a post I get this little small picture. How did you get your nice pictures up? I just don't get alot of this computer stuff sometimes. Can anyone help me out? I have given up for now!

Sorry, I was away from the computer yesterday...my baby is not yet even in an egg yet! There are few breeders here in Canada, and the one I chose to go with informed me that her females are ready to go, but her males are not yet in the mood! (A male not in the mood??? isn't that an oxymoron??? lol) So I will have to be super patient and wait for the news that eggs are laid, and then I'll have to wait to see if any of them are males...
So in the mean time, I come to this forum and imagine that I will soon be able to experience the same joys and frustrations!

You must have the patience of an angel. I don't think I could wait that long. Good for you!!! The phrase "worth the wait" really does apply here. The good part is that once they are in the mood it isn't really too long for the babies. And all the waiting will make it extra special when it is finally time. If they end up being little girls will you be tempted to take a female or wait it out for the male? Marcia McFly doesn't sound too bad :) Has she any idea about when they will start breeding?

No, I will wait it out for a male. I hear so many good things about the males that I don't think I want to settle for a female who may be too moody for my man to trust (he's not at all experienced with parrots and doesn't trust them). While I'm sure I would be fine to hang out with a female, I want the bird to be a family pet for all to enjoy. So if there is a greater chance of that occuring with a male, then I will stick it out and reap the rewards later! Yay!
As for the status on the couple of "love birds", my breeder is busy raising a wack of greys right now, so I hear from her fairly seldom. She did, however, reassure me that she would keep me apprised of their activities! So hopefully I hear from her sooner than later! lol
