Looks a little nervous

Well we have had Scarlet for 9 days now, this is the first time she has seen my son as he was away on a school trip until friday. She came straight out of her cage and plonked herself on his head lol, think he was a little nervous don't you.

She is 3 years old and my first parrot, I have had Clone Curries, Rossella's and Kakarikies before when I was younger, but they were aviary birds. Never had a parrot though.

That's a common spot in my house for as long as I have owned parrots just as long as they don't poop.I guess Miss Scarlet is making herself right at home.

My Miss Scarlett tells your Miss Scarlet , "hello Scarlet!"

Your girl is VERY pretty. She also looks to be quite large (is she a Red Sided? The computer I'm on has a small screen, but it looks like I can see a little bit of blue eyeliner ) She looks bigger than my Vos Redhead!

I'm sure you have the 411 on eclectus dietary needs, but you should check out Eclectus Parrots <---Land of Vos anyways if you haven't already. It's a mandatory requirement of all new ekkie owners That site is WONDERFUL. Bookmark it and visit it all the time!!

You posted before and I said she's a Red Sided Eclectus.I am owned by 2 Red Sided Eclectus hens.Something about their heads.I also have 2 Vosmaeri hens and 1 Solomon Island hen. There is a big difference between the Red Sided and the Solomon Island. Miss Scarlet is beautiful.

I agree with Marcia. Definitely can see the eyeliner now Have you had her weighed recently? I'd be interested to know how big she is. My girl ranges around 420-440 but usually hovers around 425 (depending on the season and the time of day). And I'd swear from that picture your girl is bigger than mine.

I've heard there are two subspecies of Red Sided. . . one is the Aru red sided and is larger than the other. This is all hearsay though. I've got nothing to back it up.
