Miss Ella is home

Ella is home!!!! I picked up Miss Ella from the airport Saturday morning and she arrived safe. For those of you who don't know Ella is a RS female - her breeder had named her Ella Bella and Ella for short, I have decided to keep that name as I really like it and it fits her well.

Ella is just wonderful, she is just beautiful and HUGE - I didn't think she was going to be this big. She is definitely larger then Cozi (my grey that was rehomed). She is very sweet and social - she loves to hang out with me and her favorite spot is my shoulder. I just love her!!!

She is actually so big that I had to set up a larger cage - she spent her first day in the original cage, but with the perches and toys, and then once she got moving around I found she didn't have much room, at least I wasn't comfortable leaving her in there, so I set up the larger one and she is doing just fine. Now with the larger cage I have to re do the play area which is almost done - I think this different and new setup is going to be much better and more roomy for such a big girl.

She mumbles lot which is very cute and sweet - I do believe that she is also saying "hello", but it's not very clear yet. I am not positive if she knows that word, but it definitely sounds like it.

She's just wonderful, so sweet, and I just love her. Here are some pictures I took of her.

Congratulations! She is a stunning girl. Female red sided ekkies are hard to find. Enjoy her. She's precious! I have a male rse who will be two on July 2. They're smart birds. He was trying to say hello the first night too. He was a few days shy of 4 months. She will amaze you.
Good luck!
Rebecca
Do you mind sharing the name of the breeder?

Enjoy her.You have to do one thing that all Eclectus owners do and don't think I'm weird.Hold her and smell her. They have such a special smell.

Oh she is sooo pretty! It makes me want to run out to my breeder and buy a little girl!
Ive thought about doing that, but I really dont want to deal with eggs and them breeding (too bad you cant fix birds *sigh*)
I bet you are soo happy to have her own, she is gorgeous!

What is going on with all these gorgeous HUGE RS girls? They're all bigger than my Vos!

Beautiful baby. Absolutely stunning. Love the baby beak.

She is gorgeous!

Does "love the baby beak" mean that the horn color on her beak is a baby trait? It will change color as she matures, yes?

The pictures are really lovely...keep them, and updates about her, coming!
