Still want an Ekkie......

I have decided that even though I have a great bird in Baby now...the longing for an Ekkie has not went away. haha.
I have been in contact with a breeder who has a 10 year old male that I might be getting. He sounds fantastic; she says that he is VERY tame, that he'd rather be sitting on a shoulder and be with you than eat. That's hard to believe in an Ekkie. But he sounds great.
I hope to hear something soon.
Baby is doing fine. She is learning a lot of tricks. She is still sort of physically "standoffish" with me. But..I haven't had her but two months. I feel great to have been able to teach her to ring a bell/be BIG bird (she LOVES to be "big Bird" where she flaps her wings and yells) and to WAVE!
I am leaving the perching efforts behind, for right now, as it is frustrating and she is having NONE of the perch. So, our physical contact is sadly limited to scratching on the back for right now. But, as she gets more comfortable and trusting of us, she might relax a little more. Other than the perching thing she is doing great.
So...I'm still Ekkie bound. I haven't forgotten how good it felt to put that Ekkie on my hand at a bird fair and let him hang out awhile. My son loved it too. Very nice companion animal.
Hoping it works out...
Mark

I have a female Vosmaeri eclectus parrot that needs a home. She is currently hear at my home close to Fort Lauderdale, FL. She came to me yesterday and is a rescue. She needs an experienced owner as she has started plucking. She has been in 3 different homes this year. The first home bought her from a petstore, but the husband didn't like the parrot and the wife was traveling a lot. They passed on the parrot to my former housekeeper who is living in one room with her daughter at a friend's house. She looks healthy, bright eyes, beautiful plumage (other than the plucked feathers), but has been on a poor diet for the last year.

Locals only please. I will not ship her.

Thanks.
